Remediation of Contaminated Areas

 

The remediation of three areas of environmental concern on-site (described throughout this website as AECs) is the final, and most complex, of the three phases in the overall decommissioning of the site. This is the largest remediation project of its kind ever undertaken in Ireland and has required detailed advance works’ planning by a large multidisciplinary team from Roche, and the main contractor, Indaver.

All aspects of the remediation works will conform to the highest environmental and safety standards in line with the Industrial Emissions (IE) Licence, issued by the EPA.Traffic movements to and from the site, through Clarecastle, and onwards to Shannon Foynes Port, will increase significantly during this phase.This will be managed by an on-site Traffic Management team.
